From the earliest moments of the verdant sea there was destruction, loss and grief. The trees remember, in their own slow strange way, but people forget. No matter how tragic or heroic, how great or how small, the past fades into antiquity and is lost. The only way to stand firm against the passage of time is to remember. To remember fiercely and proudly all that has gone before.
